Under the Mycoflora Sun - Artist Feature: Edd Cox
For this season we have worked with Edd Cox, a NW based artist, whom has contributed a series of his iconic simplified drawings for the ‘Under The Mycoflora Sun’ collection. The apparel pieces include a full print rayon LS Pattern button shirt and the plush mohair Star Crew Jumper. Both pieces have pop colors accents with a black ground base available in sizes for Men & Women.
Edd Cox, an iconic Northwest artist based in Seattle's historic OK Hotel. He works across multiple mediums from painting to sculpture to ceramics. Since the late 70's he has developed a simplified Picasso like style of imagery rich in storytelling and character studies based on Incan and Mayan motifs. These pieces range from full size installation filling an entire room to personal size scrawls.
His work has been exhibited in group and solo gallery and museum shows at the Henry Art Gallery, Frye Art Museum and Tacoma Art Museum. His awards include The Ford Foundation and residency at the Centrum Foundation.
